Julianne did have some help with her task—she chopped off her locks under the supervision of celebrity hairstylist Riawna Capri, who cheered her on. 

"Well, at least I don't second-guess and I just go for it," the Grease Live! actress said while snipping. "And that, my dears, is a seven-minute haircut."

The hairstylist explained that Julianne had been itching for a style switch-up for quite some time.

"We wanted a bright bold change for the new year, and that we did!" Riawna said in a statement. "She's been talking about going short for a few months now. And one day at Dancing With the Stars, it hit her. She was ready."

The glam expert added, "I've been doing Julianne's hair for 15 years now, and I am proud to say, with all the charges throughout the years, we did something different."
