The Ordinary is launching six new products here's how to get exclusive access to the first drop

March 2024 · 3 minute read

Anyone who has ever used The Ordinary knows its skincare offering is anything but ‘ordinary’. Much of the brand's appeal lies in its breakthrough innovations, that hit the elusive sweet spot of being charged with buzzy science-led ingredients at affordable prices.

Its star-studded lineup includes the best-selling Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 serum that attracts up to 1,000 times its weight in water while soothing parched skin; the Retinol Serum 1% in Squalane to ramp up collagen production while minimising skin flaking and the beloved Azelaic Acid Suspension 10% to dial down acne and rosacea breakouts.

All already take pride of place in our beauty regimes but it's time to clear a space on your bathroom shelf as the brand is ringing in 2023 with not one, but six new product launches, and an exciting new platform.

Today sees the launch of The O.Lab, a space that is inspired by DECIEM’s in-house laboratory and gives you a tantalising teaser of everything that's coming next from The Ordinary. You'll receive early access to products, a community of like-minded skincare aficionados and behind-the-scenes content. The O. Lab also takes into consideration the new products you've requested across The Ordinary's social platforms and features formulations that target some of the most searched-for skin concerns on the brand's website.

Better, still you can sign up to The O.Lab today and get a link to purchase the first drop of the new Glucoside Foaming Cleanser, available on 9th December 2022.  Officially launching on 9th March 2023, you will be one of the first to get your hands on this latest addition to The Ordinary's cleanser lineup. Designed for those with oilier skin types, its gel-to-foam formula gently removes makeup and environmental impurities while clinical trials revealed a 10% increase in hydration on the first day of use.

As ever, The Ordinary is also introducing a lesser-known ingredient to our beauty vocabulary. “Glucoside surfactants are naturally-derived, non-ionic mild surfactants that are commonly used in formulations that require gentleness – for example, baby care and sensitive skincare products,” says Prudvi Kaka, Chief Scientific Officer at The Ordinary & DECIEM. “The two glucoside surfactants included in our Glucoside Foaming Cleanser are decyl-and coco-glucoside, which function as the cleansing components within the formula to effectively remove surface level impurities while also maintaining the skin's moisture barrier.”

According to Prudvi, you can also use the Squalane Cleanser and Glucoside Foaming Cleanser in tandem as part of your night time double cleansing regime as both have very different textures. The Squalane Cleanser is more of a balm and works perfectly for the first cleansing step, which “usually consists of an oil-like or oil-based cleanser to gently remove makeup, sunscreen, and dirt”, says Prudvi.

The second cleanse typically involves “using a water-based cleanser to remove any residual oil and leave the face feeling clean and refreshed,” says Prudvi, noting that the Glucoside Foaming Cleanser is perfect for this and will also “strengthen the skin’s barrier, improve the look of skin clarity and texture, and promote skin radiance and suppleness with continued use.”

With five more product drops on the horizon, 2023 is already shaping up for extraordinary skin.
